Learning and “lightbulb” moments aren’t confined to the classroom. They can happen anywhere — at the coffee house, on a team project, in a casual conversation over pizza. At Berkeley Engineering, you’re surrounded by some of the smartest, most creative and entrepreneurial people you’ll ever meet. This is where future business plans are hatched and where lifelong friendships are made. Where the Berkeley spirit ignites new ideas and changes the direction of lives. Although we’re known for our academic rigor and leading-edge research, we’re also a pretty cool place to be. And there are many ways to find that out.

Engineering teams and organizations

Take what you’ve learned in the classroom or lab, then add character development and leadership skills. Competition teams and student organizations give you the opportunity to showcase your work and develop new ideas. You’ll also be meeting new people, creating professional connections and expanding your skillsets. And don’t stop at engineering; across campus, you’ll find more than 850 clubs and leadership opportunities. Check out the offerings from Berkeley’s LEAD Center to help navigate all the options for student involvement.

Leadership opportunities

Engineering Student Services is the place to go to learn about more leadership and professional development opportunities. We can help you acquire the skills that will build your résumé, heighten your profile and launch your career.

Career development
