Peterson honored as top engineer
Nuclear engineering professor Per Peterson (M.S.’86, Ph.D.’88 ME) has joined the ranks of National Academy of Engineering members. He manages Berkeley’s Thermal Hydraulics Research Laboratory, and his expertise includes nuclear reactor design, radioactive waste and nuclear materials management. He was cited for “experimental and analytical research contributions for the design and development of passive safety systems for advanced nuclear reactors.” Along with new member Paulo Monteiro, he brings the total number of Berkeley Engineering faculty members in the academy to 78.
