09/28/20 — On this week’s episode of the (Not So) Secret Guide to Being a Berkeley Engineer we are introducing two new folks to the podcast, Yuki Burton from the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) and Jose Jasso, one of our Berkeley Engineering students who just graduated with a BS in electrical engineering and computer sciences. Jose shares his story of resilience, the resources he used to be successful and his thoughts on how other students can succeed. Yuki gives us an in-depth overview of EOP, campus resources and how first-generation and underrepresented students can reach out and make connections.
09/21/20 — Last week we were able to meet each of our engineering counselors, Christine Zhou, Yi Du and Geneé Jackson. This week on the (Not So) Secret Guide to Being a Berkeley Engineer we learned more about what a counseling session looks like, address some of the common questions students bring to their sessions and talk about how the pandemic and remote learning are affecting our students. We delve into how students can prepare, cope and be successful this semester and beyond.
09/14/20 — Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) has a satellite office for Berkeley Engineering students. An important part of seeking support is knowing that you will be comfortable and understood. That is why this week on The (Not So) Secret Guide to Being a Berkeley Engineer you will meet licensed psychologists Dr. Shuangmei (Christine) Zhou, Dr. Geneé Jackson, and Dr. Yi Du from University Health Services. They provide free and confidential consultations to students related to any personal, professional, or academic concerns.
09/07/20 — The Center for Access to Engineering Excellence (CAEE) is open this week and we wanted to get to know more about the tutoring services and your peers that work there. Berkeley Engineering students Natalie Celt and Bradley Seamons join us on The (Not So) Secret Guide to Being a Berkeley Engineer to tell us how the CAEE is offering academic support virtually and how you can get the most out of the services they offer.
