Registration
All eligible graduates will receive an email with registration instructions. Registration consists of the following steps:
- Complete the college’s exit survey (provided in the registration email).
- Once you complete the survey, you will be directed to Tassel to register for the ceremony. You must complete this step by April 4, 2025.
- Doctoral degree graduates only: Complete and submit your advisor/hooder form by April 18, 2025.
Please review the following important details to ensure you register correctly:
- Add engineeringcommencement@berkeley.edu as a recognized sender in your email.
- Registration must be completed on Tassel (our commencement registration platform) in order to participate in the Berkeley Engineering commencement.
- Separate registration is required for the Berkeley Engineering commencement and the May 17 campuswide commencement.
Print program: Graduates who register for commencement by the April 4 deadline will have their names printed in the ceremony program. Please make sure that your name is correct on your Tassel registration, so that it is printed correctly in the program. You can contact engineeringcommencement@berkeley.edu between May 26 and June 6 to request that your name be included in an updated PDF version of the program.
Tickets
Guest ticket sales are now open!
Students who registered by the April 4 deadline can buy guest tickets for $7 each during specific sales periods. There will be a maximum number of tickets registered students can purchase in each period. Once a sales period closes, any tickets not purchased will be forfeited. Graduates should review the email sent from engineeringcommencement@berkeley.edu on Tuesday, April 8 for more information.
Berkeley Engineering is pleased to announce that, based on the number of eligible graduates who registered, additional commencement guest tickets for each ceremony will be available for purchase starting Thursday, May 1.
Phase 1 Ticket Sales:

With the two sales periods combined, registered students will have the opportunity to buy a total of 4 tickets for the bachelor’s, 4 for the master’s, or 6 for the doctoral ceremony.
Additional Ticket Availability:
Sales of any unsold tickets will be open to all registered graduates for their respective ceremony, while supplies last. Information about ticket availability was emailed to registered graduates.
Guest Ticket Information:
- Tickets are on sale through the time periods listed above for $7/ticket. Please review the ceremony-specific ticket maximum.
- All students who completed their Berkeley Engineering Commencement registration by Friday, April 4, are eligible to purchase their allotted guest tickets until the deadlines listed above. Registered graduates have been emailed instructions for purchasing tickets.
- If a registered graduate does not purchase the full ticket allotment offered during one of the sales periods, they will forfeit the unsold ticket(s). Those tickets will not be reserved for the graduate to purchase after the sales period has ended.
- All guests (regardless of age) must have a ticket to gain admittance to commencement. Graduates must register to participate, but do not need to purchase a ticket for themselves.
- The ceremony will be live-streamed on the Berkeley Engineering YouTube channel for friends and family who cannot attend in person.
- Seating at the Greek Theatre and Zellerbach Auditorium is general admission (not reserved), on a first-come, first-served basis. Please review the venue information below for more details on access and comfort.
- Tickets and ticket sales for the Berkeley Engineering commencement ceremonies are separate from the May 17 campuswide commencement.
Regalia & honor cords
Students are responsible for providing their own regalia. Caps and gowns may be purchased or rented from the Cal Student Store. For more information regarding caps and gowns, graduation announcements and ordering yearbooks, please visit the Cal Student Store website or storefront at 2495 Bancroft Way.

Day-of details
We will email day-of-commencement instructions to registered graduates 2-3 days before the event.
