Grimes Engineering Center opens

The Grimes Engineering Center, a new campus hub, is designed to foster collaboration, inclusivity and innovation.

It provides engineering students with one-stop access to advising, career services, tutoring, academic and social events, as well as the college’s flagship entrepreneurship program. The center’s unique design features an ultra-lightweight glass-and-steel pavilion, adding more than 35,500 square feet and two floors to the former Bechtel Engineering Center, and an innovative system of tension rods and shape-memory alloy cables for seismic resilience.
