Society of Women Engineers Overnight Host Program
The New Admit Overnight Host Program (OHP) is a unique event designed specifically for women admitted to UC Berkeley’s College of Engineering for Fall 2020. Hosted by the Society of Women Engineers, the program provides female admits the opportunity to visit the Cal campus, interact with engineering student organizations and research laboratories, attend a banquet with UC Berkeley faculty and professors, and sleep overnight in student housing in order to experience life as a Berkeley engineer. This year’s program takes place from April 17-18, 2020. Participants are also encouraged to attend Cal Day on April 18. For more information on this year's program and to register please visit the Society of Women Engineers' website.
New Admit Parent/Guardian Program
As parents/guardians of newly admitted female identifying students, we have designed a one-day program just for you on Friday, April 17, 2020, 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. The New Admit Parent/Guardian Program works in conjunction with the New Admit Overnight Host Program and creates the opportunity for parents/guardians to interact with College of Engineering faculty, staff and students. We will also provide presentations on resources and services that are important to many parents/guardians, such as, financial aid, campus safety, housing, health services and career planning. Sponsored by the College of Engineering and hosted by Engineering Student Services, this program includes a light breakfast and lunch.
Important notes for parents who participate:
- Lodging is not included for parents/guardians. Admitted students will receive lodging, however, it is not provided for families or guardians.
- Due to limited parking availability, we recommend that you use public transportation whenever possible.
If driving, we suggest parking at the Stadium Parking Garage where you can purchase parking for the time you will be with us.
Registration for the 20209 Parent/Guardian program will be available online in April 2020. If you have questions please contact Luis Castillo.
