Mentor programs

Berkeley Mentorship Cohort

At Berkeley Engineering, we don’t just talk about equity and inclusion — we have robust programs in place to bolster retention and a sense of belonging for every member of our community. The Berkeley Mentorship Cohort (BMC) cultivates inclusivity by providing comprehensive peer, faculty and alumni mentorship. We’ve created a pipeline of support to enhance our students’ holistic wellness to serve scholars at every stage of their academic careers. We partner students with compatible mentors, then equip everyone with digital libraries of campus resources, literature reviews on effective mentoring practices, and platforms to share the wisdom of our whole engineering community.

PREP mentor program

The PREP Mentor Program is a year-long program designed to provide individualized mentorship, professional development opportunities, and academic support to first-generation, low-income, and underrepresented students in the College of Engineering.  As part of this program, you’ll build strong relationships with your mentor or mentee, increase your awareness of campus and off-campus resources, and gain the skills needed to succeed at Berkeley.

Transfer mentor program

The Transfer Mentor Program (TMP) is a year-long program designed to provide individualized mentorship, professional development opportunities and academic support to junior transfer students at Berkeley Engineering. As part of this program, students build strong relationships with their mentors or mentees, increase their awareness of campus and off-campus resources, and gain the skills needed to succeed at Berkeley.
