Josie BuchanHello! My name is Josie Buchan and I am a junior majoring in Bioengineering from Grand Rapids, Michigan. On campus, I am apart of the Bioengineering Honor Society, Cal Against Cancer, Healthcare Consulting Group, Alpha Phi, and a research lab. I also joined the gymnastics club team just for fun! In my free time, I love spending time with friends, going to the movies, hiking, and reading. Feel free to come visit me to talk about clubs, classes, research, internship opportunities, or anything Cal related! I look forward to meeting all of you!

Aylin Figuera UribeHi! My name is Aylin Figueroa Uribe and I am a second year Civil Engineering student from Palm Springs, CA. I am part of the Seismic Construction Team, Hermanas Unidas, and I will be the treasurer for the club, Hispanic Engineers and Scientists (HES). During my free time I love to play soccer, go hike, explore new places, or simply talk with either family of friends! I am super excited to meet new students and help them out with any questions they may have. Even if you don’t have a question, you can always stop by and have a conversation with me. I love helping people so if I can help in any way, I would encourage students to come talk to me! Go Bears!

Hello! My name is Nick Gee. I am a senior Mechanical Engineering major from NJ. This summer I worked at Peloton. On campus I am part of the MechE honor society, Sigma Alpha Mu and formerly did research. In my free time I like to hang with friends, workout, cook, play tennis, basketball, and golf. Pull up to the zoom call and let’s chat.

Hi! My name is Sharon Hsia and I’m a fourth-year international student from Taiwan, majoring in Material Science and Engineering and minoring in EECS. I’m currently a part of the Materials Science and Engineering Association and I’m also doing research in electronic nanomaterials and device simulation. In my free time, I like to play badminton with my friends, make some desserts, and listen to some chill music. I also love traveling. I always enjoy sharing my experiences in Cal and listen to other peoples’ stories, so feel free to come in and talk to me if you have any questions, concerns or anything interesting that you want to share!

Hi! My name is Affton Maryland and I am a fourth year Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) student. I am originally from the South, pick a Southern city and I have most likely lived there. I am currently exploring new clubs so feel free to let me know if you hear about a cool one. In my free time I love to watch Netflix or Hulu, go to the VR gym, or just go out and eat with friends and try new restaurants! I also love traveling and exploring new places. I am always down to meet new students! Come by and talk to me!

Romy MastelHello! My name is Romy Mastel, and I am a Junior studying Mechanical Engineering, with a focus in medical devices. Last year, I was the Corporate Committee Co-Chair for the Cal Biomedical Engineering Society, and an intern for the Pilipinx Association of Scientists, Architects, and Engineers. Additionally, I am part of the Disabled Students Program here at Cal. I currently research microfluidic devices and selective DNA methylation in the Streets Lab, and previously worked as an R&D engineering intern at Potrero Medical. I also enjoy salsa dancing, playing guitar, and most of all, eating. Come and chat with me over Zoom about anything that’s on your mind, I look forward to meeting you!

Peer Adviser Vishrut RanaHello! I am Vishrut Rana, a third-year IEOR student from Dubai, UAE. This summer, I had a great experience working at Tesla in a Supply Chain role with the Solar Energy team. On campus, I am involved with the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers and Formula Electric at Berkeley. I have also volunteered to mentor middle school students in Math through Bridging Berkeley. During my time off, I am mostly bingeing over a Bollywood movie or developing my rather rudimentary culinary skills. As an international student, my experiences in the past semesters have been truly phenomenal and I look forward to interacting with my peers to learn about theirs and help where I can! Feel free to stop by for a quick chat!

eileen WangHi everyone, my name is Eileen Wang and I’m a fourth year at UC Berkeley studying Electrical Engineering and Computer Science! I’m an out of state student originally from Austin, Texas where I was born and raised. On campus, I’m involved in the Society of Women Engineers, the Sage Mentorship Project and greek life. I’m very passionate about discussing opportunities to mentor kids and ways to encourage under-represented groups to follow STEM paths. I also studied abroad in Barcelona this past spring and got the opportunity to travel to some pretty cool places. I definitely encourage engineering students to consider studying abroad! In my free time I love finding new places to eat, working out and watching crime shows. I’m super excited to meet new people as a peer advisor this year, please drop in whenever to chat!
