Sharicka Zutshi

Sharicka ZutshiHello, y’all! I’m Sharicka Zutshi (she/her), a third-year Bioengineering student pursuing a concentration in synthetic and computational biology. In the future, I hope to go to graduate school and then work on developing novel gene therapies for chronic diseases. I am a Human-Centered Design research fellow at the Fung Institute for Engineering Leadership and the Elementary and Middle School Outreach Coordinator for the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). I am also a member of the UC Berkeley Model United Nations traveling debate team. I wanted to maintain a good balance of professional and personal development extra-curricular so feel free to ask me about that. I also work as an intern at a Berkeley-based biotech startup. Feel free to ask me about the internship recruitment process! Having pursued research in fields ranging from Biomechanics to STEM policy (I’m a Public Policy Minor), I believe that I have had experience with several different kinds of research that one can pursue as an engineer, so feel free to talk to me about that! Bonus: I am an international student from India and transferred to COE from L&S, so feel free to talk to me about adjusting to a new country or a new college! As a peer advisor, I hope to make all of you feel welcome and help you thrive in the COE community. Looking forward to meeting you all!
