Nuclear is an energy source that is highly concentrated, abundant, reliable and free of green house gases and it will be essential for a carbon-free future. Research in our department focuses on the sustainable deployment of nuclear energy. Topics include design and development of advanced reactors that are more effective in using natural resources, minimization and management of nuclear waste, development of fusion technology, and sustainable manufacturing.
