How long have you been with the College of Engineering?
I joined ESS in Spring 2022, and look forward to welcoming my first cohort this summer.
What is your favorite part of your job?
The piece of advising that has kept me excited about my career are the relationships. Both between myself and the students I work with, but also the relationships I’m able to build with my team.
What advice do you have for students?
YOU BELONG HERE! It took until my junior year at Berkeley to feel I had a strong community and supportive network, but it eventually came when I decided to surround myself with like minded individuals. If you are still searching for that community, let’s talk about the resources and opportunities the campus has to offer.
What is the most unusual job you’ve had?
It wasn’t necessarily unusual, but I worked as a Security Monitor (the folks who swipe residents into the dorm buildings after hours) while an undergrad. It was a sweet campus job since I could do homework (or watch Netflix…) but I definitely had some interesting encounters with residents.
What are your favorite TV shows?
I am a true crime fanatic – if there’s a new docuseries I’m definitely watching it ASAP. To balance it out, I’m also a fan of female-led drama-comedies like the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and The Great.
What is your favorite song, band or type of music?
According to my Spotify “Top of 2021” my most listened to artists were Tame Impala, Glass Animals, Blink-182, Bad Bunny, and Frank Ocean. Which sounds about right – I listen to a decently diverse rotation of music depending on the day and mood.
