Where did you go to college?
Pasadena City College, UCLA, University of San Francisco

How long have you been with the College of Engineering?
I started in COE in the EECS department in 2018. Prior to that I was an advisor in the Biology Scholars Program and before that I worked with post-baccalaureate students in the School of Pharmacy at UCSF.

What is your favorite part of your job?
Advocating for students and helping them navigate their college experience. As advisors, we can assist students to make the most of their college experience by helping students make sense of their graduation requirements and figuring out ways to balance their academic schedules and extracurricular activities.

What advice do you have for students?
Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Oftentimes we are intimidated or very prideful to ask for help. Surprisingly, college can be a very collaborative process. Seek help when you need to.

What is the most unusual job you’ve had?
I’ve been a test subject for a family member to conduct their cosmetology licensure exam. Unfortunately, when they were placing eyelashes on me as part of their exam, they unintentionally glued my eyelids shut. They still owe me for that one to this day.

What are your favorite TV shows?
I don’t watch much television, but I do love following YouTubers who share my hobbies — tennis, crabbing and backpacking.

What is your favorite song, band or type of music?
90’s music is very nostalgic to me. I am particularly fond of The Wallflowers, Incubus, Weezer, Oasis and Red Hot Chili Peppers. However, I’ve been open to exploring all genres of the EDM scene.
