Berkeley Engineering ranked third best grad program in the nation by U.S. News

“We continue to punch above our weight,” said Dean Asta

UC Berkeley Engineering remains the No. 3 engineering school — and the top public engineering program — according to the U.S. News & World Report’s graduate program rankings published today.

All of the college’s graduate programs continued to be ranked in the top 10. Civil engineering rose to the top spot, while industrial engineering moved from third to second this year. Other No. 1 placements include computer engineering, electrical engineering and environmental engineering.

“Considering these high rankings, it is notable that many of our departments are much smaller in size than their peers,” said Mark Asta, dean designate of Berkeley Engineering. “The results show how we continue to punch above our weight, and I think that’s a testament to the excellence of our faculty, students and staff.”

The full list of Berkeley Engineering rankings are online. U.S. News & World Report will release its undergraduate program rankings in the fall. See all of UC Berkeley’s graduate rankings here.
