As a graduate student at Berkeley Engineering, you’ll find plenty of outlets for growth and achievement. Your participation in college life and your own contributions to this diverse learning and research community help to shape the college’s global reputation for excellence.
Berkeley Engineering provides graduate students with opportunities to expand their network and strengthen connections. We offer workshops and panels on such topics as fellowship applications, preparing for preliminary and qualifying exams, postdoctoral positions and internships abroad. And we support graduate student organizations in their professional development and community building.
Building the pipeline
Berkeley Engineering is also working to expand the base of qualified applicants to ensure that our graduate student body represents the full range of perspectives that are necessary for the generation of new knowledge. We’re active in nationwide outreach and recruitment, attending graduate school fairs and conferences with Berkeley Engineering graduate students and faculty.
Each spring, we offer Berkeley Engineering Preview Days, a program of workshops, networking, graduate advising and Bay Area tours for rising college seniors who are interested in applying to Ph.D. programs in engineering. Students traditionally underrepresented in engineering are strongly encouraged to apply.
