Society of Women Engineers Overnight Host Program
Each year, Berkeley Engineering’s Society of Women Engineers (SWE) hosts a new admit Overnight Host Program (OHP). OHP is a unique event supporting female identifying and non-binary students admitted to UC Berkeley’s College of Engineering and chemical engineering major from the College of Chemistry, to get a taste of life as a Berkeley Engineer.
Through engaging mixers, panels and workshops, attendees have an exclusive chance to engage with prospective and current engineering students, meet trailblazing professors and faculty and be paired up individually with an engineering student.
In-person OHP
The in-person program on Friday, April 18 will include activities, such as:
- Campus tour
- Lab and classroom tours
- Professor talks
- Peer advising
- “Day in the Life” (shadowing an undergraduate student)
- Networking and fun activities
Students will also have the option to stay overnight with a current Berkeley Engineering student from the night of April 18 to the morning of April 19.
Pen Pal
Having a Pen Pal will give you one-on-one mentorship from a current engineering student. You’ll be able to ask questions about campus life, choosing classes, what they like about UC Berkeley and more!
The OHP 2025 Pen Pal program will be held from Sunday, April 13th to Thursday, April 17th.
Note that you do not have to attend OHP to sign up for the Pen Pal program.
This program is designed to support women and non-binary people pursuing engineering at UC Berkeley, and all genders are welcome to register and participate.
