Where did you go to college?   
I went to Cal State Hayward.

How long have you been with the College of Engineering? 
I have been here for over 25 years.

What is your favorite part of your job?  
I enjoy helping problem solve student issues, and meeting new and interesting young people from different places.

What is your approach to advising?  
Be open minded.

What is the most unusual job you’ve had? 
I worked in a “head” shop on Telegraph Avenue when I was in school, selling smoking paraphernalia.

What are your interests? 
I love music, cooking, movies, photography, reading fiction and non-fiction, hanging out with family and friends, politics and travel.

What advice do you have for students? 
Be open minded, explore your passions, have a strong work ethic, don’t settle for a job just for the money.

What are your favorite TV shows? 
I like Masterpiece Theater, The Office, Friends, Chopped and most things on PBS.

What are your favorite books?  
Anything by Arundhati Roy, Midnight’s Children by Salman Rushdie, too many to name really.

What is your favorite song, band or type of music?
I love so much music. The Beatles are my all-time favorite. But I love my sons band ATLAS because they are really talented, and I love their pop/punk music.
